Hillcrest students in grades 2, 3, 4, and 5 will be participating in an in-line skating unit from Monday, Nov. 27th thru Thursday, Dec. 14th. This unit will allow our students to take part in a great cardio workout while improving motor skills, coordination and balance. Whether your child is a beginner or an advanced skater, all students will learn/practice the basic skills such as starting, stopping, balancing, forward skating and safety tips. It also helps prepare students for ice skating on Friday, Dec. 15th.
A huge Thank You goes out to the Hillcrest PTSA and which graciously offered to pick up the $7 student fee again this year for all our students. We are incredibly fortunate to have this kind of support from our parent organization and administration! Thanks for all you do!
*Students are required to use the skates provided but are encouraged to bring their own safety equipment to ensure a better fit and speed up the process of putting on gear prior to skating.
* The following will be available to use: in-line skates (that are geared for the gym floor) and safety equipment (helmets, wrist guards, knee pads, and elbow pads).
